Construction

The D-12E is everything Martin guitars are known for all at an affordable price point. Starting off with the body you have the classic Dreadnought body shape originally designed by Martin themselves it is now vastly used by every guitar manufacturer around the world due to it being comfortable and producing a fantastic balanced tone. The Top wood is made of Sitka Spruce used as a primary top wood on martin guitars off all price points due to its fantastic tonal properties, straight grain, tensile strength and long life. Paired with the top is the classic Sapele back & sides, this tried and tested combination of woods is the foundation of any fantastic acoustic guitar no matter the price, size or style. The top of the guitar is finished in a clear gloss whilst the back and sides are coated in a thin satin layer which feels fantastic. Joined to the body you have a select hardwood neck connected by a Mortise & Tenon Neck Joint. The neck boasts a performing artist neck shape, 20 frets, richlite fingerboard, and a High-Performance Taper all stretched acorss a 25.4" scale length.

Electronics

The D-12E Comes fitted with Fishman MX-T Electronics, this is similar to the vastly used Sonitone system with the added benefit of a mid-scoop control and a built in tuner. The tuner on this system allows for an output mute which allows you to tune quietly on stage without changing your volume. The tuner and controls are neatly tucked away within the soundhole to allow for a clean finish around the sides of the guitar.
