True 1960's era tone

Hofner's contemporary series basses offer you the ideal instrument for playing 60's era music. The Club series Hofner was possibly the most iconic basses of its time. Being used by a wide variety of famous artists it helped them develop an iconic and instantly recognisable sound. Due to the hollow body nature of this bass you get a very resonant and warm tone. even acoustically you can hear the bass well enough to be able to practice and feel the vibrations from the back of the body to the tip of the headstock. The tonewoods picked for this instrument are now widely used in acoustic guitars down to their resonant and warm sounding qualities, you have a Spruce top piece and flame maple back & sides.

Pickups & Electronics

The pickups that come fitted in the HCT-500/2 are vintage voiced to sound like the classic 1960's era with a low passive output. To control these pickups you have two independent volume controls (one for each pickup), a Solo/Rhythm switch, treble on and finally a bass on switch. Even for a vintage era re-issue bass guitar you have modern control and flexibility to change and mould the sound to how you would personally prefer it.
