This bass has come direct from Yamaha as ex-demo and has very slight marks to the back of the bass but nothing which effects tone or playability, everything has been checked and tested prior to leaving Yamaha and again once it arrives here. the Bass doesn't have the original gigbag however it will come with a protection racket bass case and full warranty as with brand new

Layered Construction

This BB734 has a unique body construction which consists of multi-laminated Alder/Maple/Alder. The Hard maple centre increases the rigidness of the body giving it a solid feel and also accentuated the mid-range frequencies which allow you to easily cut through the band mix. This construction design also allows for better vibration transfer between the body and the maple neck. The Neck is joined to the body via a 6-bolt Miter Neck Joint, by using the miter bolting it holds the neck closer to the body which allows the two sections to fuse together to act as one piece instead of two separate sections. The advantage of this technique over your standard bolt on neck is that the vibrations transfer smoother and act more as one solid piece of wood rather than two individual pieces.

Active Electronics

The BB734A comes fitted with a set of YGD Custom V7 pickups which paired with the unique wood construction produces a organic and well defined tone. To control these pickups the 700 series of broad basses Yamaha have used a unique Active/Passive system to provide extra tonal control and versatility. The system was redesigned to provide a crisper tone and improved mids via a level-matched output whether in passive or active mode and tone-switching circuitry that seamlessly moves from treble control to master passive tone. The contacts on the circuitry of the system are gold plated to give increased conductivity and reliability via strong connections. The system also has a convenient battery alert LED on the back panel which will light up when your battery is running low and needs replacing. With regards to tonal controls offered on this system you have dual active pickups, 3 band EQ, a pickup balancer, and an active/passive switch. This gives the bass player all the control you would ever need be it in a live situation on stage or in the studio recording.
