    The Hofner Contemporary Series Violin Bass is a contemporary replica of the bass that Paul McCartney still plays on stage today - still featuring the original 1962 neck profile for guaranteed playability and classic tone.

    Constructed with a sustain block inside the body for modern, punchy, deep-resonating bass sounds, and using the original Hofner Staple-Top pick-ups, the Hofner HCT500/1 is affordable and couples authentic Hofner design with the latest manufacturing techniques. The Violin Bass is part of Hofners contemporary series of electric guitars based on the famous models of the past, and is perfect for stage, studio and any genre of music.

    Though this is a right handed version, the Hofner Contemporary Series HCT500/1 Violin Bass is based on Paul McCartneys 1962 Violin Bass, and replicates details of the original including the strip machine heads, the slot-head screws on the hardware, and the 2-piece neck. These are authentic touches that connect the Hofner Violin Bass to an earlier time. In the Contemporary Series Violin bass Hofner have created a replica of Pauls bass historically accurate enough to satisfy even the most demanding Beatles fan.
