Great drummers demand great performance. The new TD-50 is a powerful new drum sound module whose original Prismatic Sound Modeling technology means that every element of your playing style is caught and conveyed in thrilling detail. Working alongside the newly developed digital trigger pads for ride and snare, with our most advanced trigger-sensing technology yet, the TD-50's high-resolution processing gives you the most lifelike, resonant and expressive sounds you'll hear from an electronic kit.

Customise your sound for live sessions and studio work

A variety of musical scenarios are no problem with the TD-50, which offers a choice of onboard kits to suit every session. This advanced new module also supports deep sound customization, including basic adjustment of heads and shells, layering of internal and user samples, and adjustment of overhead mics and ambience control. For tailored performance, the compressor and 3-band EQ effect can be controlled for each pad individually, while three independent multi-effect sections let you treat specific drums with 30 effect types such as delay, flanger and saturator. The 2-band multi compressor and 4-band equalizer let you change the output balance and volume, depending on whether you're in the studio or onstage. The new Snapshot feature is a fast way to asses and compare any edits to your sounds before making permanent changes.

Play with your own WAV files and record easily to DAW

As a creative drummer, you'll love the TD-50's open-ended connectivity, which lets inspiration flow in both directions. Using the module's SD card slot, it's easy to play external WAV files, then trigger them using any Roland drum or cymbal pad you connect. Loop or layer your own WAV file sounds alongside the internal sounds, while controlling audio and volume via the TD-50's front panel. When you write a great groove, simply connect the TD-50 module to PC/Mac by USB cable for multi-track recording on your favourite DAW. For flexibility, up to 10 channels can be recorded separately, then easily edited for tone colour and more, and there's a choice of audio sampling formats (48kHz, 96kHz and the standard 44.1kHz).

Hit the stage faster with direct PA connection and 8 Direct Outs

If you play live every night, the TD-50 could help avoid the time and effort of a lengthy setup. The first Roland drum sound module to feature a balanced XLR Master Out, it allows direct connection to a PA system without the need for a direct injection (DI) box. You'll also find 8 Direct Outs (TRS). Assigning the pad to any of the individual outputs is simple, while convenient master/phones volume controls and group faders balance the output level for each pad instantly. You can even send the output via the phones output, to control the level of your monitor sound without routing it through the PA.

Tutorial features to develop your technique

The TD-50 is the choice for serious drummers - but there's always room for improvement. The TD-50 doesn't just let your drum technique shine, but actively improves it, too, offering tutorial features that help you get the best from practice sessions. Whether you lock down your timing with the onboard Quiet Count feature, or import and play along to backing tracks via the SD card slot, it's easy to get inspired - even when you're practising alone.

Record drumming performances

New to the TD-50 Drum Sound Module is the unique audio record function. Simply hit record and start playing to record your performance. If you're playing to a click or to a backing track, there's an option to record with the drums only or record both drums and track together. Your recordings can be easily exported too, for upload and editing in your DAW. It's never been easier for a drummer to record a drum groove.
