Roland Vad307 V-Drums Acoustic Design Overview

The Roland VAD307 is a compact mid-range electronic drum kit with the sound and feel of a professional level kit. The VAD307 footprint is small enough that it will fit quite comfortably on a tight stage or in a home environment making it a great practice or live tool for all drummers. The VAD307 drum shells have been cut down to save space and overall weight with the mesh heads on each drum providing an instantly familiar feeling. Double braced stands with drum mounts and cymbal boom arms help with easy positioning and contribute to the whole acoustic aesthetic.

The Roland VAD307 also comes complete with an updated TD-17 module which provides you with all the tone and playability you could want weather that is building your own kit from scratch or using any one of the 70 preset drum kits to create your perfect sounding kit. The Updated TD-17 module also comes with expanded effects and Roland cloud support, this allows you to download addition kits from Roland artists.

The heart of the VAD307 is the TD-17 Module, filled with sounds derived from the acclaimed TD-50 sound engine. It features a vast collection of modern and vintage drum kits as well as some electronic percussion kits as well for those of you who want to be a little bit more experimental, all of which are sampled in ultra high quality audio detail and every possible velocity and head strike captured. Roland prismatic sound model is then married to these samples and it produces complex, true to life tonal range and smooth transitions between hits. The result of all this is a sound that not only tonally sounds like an acoustic drum kit but it also behaves like one as well.

TD-17 Sound Module: Updated and enhanced

With the latest Update, the TD-17 module is now more powerful than it ever was. You can now choose from 70 preset drum kits, including 10 brand new kits and 26 pre-loaded samples that you can use in your custom kits. Reverb and kit compression have also been added along with 11 more MFX types for precise drum tone shaping. The TD17 module now has integrated support for the Roland cloud, this allows you to access the ever-growing library of sounds provided by some of Rolands top V-Drum Artists.

While the preset kits sound fantastic, it's easy to dive deeper and build your ultimate drum setup with intuitive editing tools. Think of the module as a huge warehouse of drums and cymbals from different eras, which you can mix and match in any combination. After that, swap the heads, change the tuning, add muffling, and even change the virtual space you're playing in. Take things even further by loading your own samples and combining them with onboard instruments, crafting personalized kits that no other drummer can claim.

Larger Pads and a Wider Playing Spread

Acoustic drums are usually bigger than electronic drum pads. The size of each drum adds to the overall experience, not just visually but also in stick feel and physical layout. Which is why the VAD307 features a 12" snare and floor tom, two 10" rack toms, and an 18" kick, creating a naturally wide playing spread. And each cymbal can be choked simply by grabbing the edge-just like a real acoustic cymbal. The 14-inch CY-14R-T ride cymbal even includes three-way triggering with independent sounds for the edge, bow, and bell.

Powerful Practice Tools and Bluetooth Connectivity

The TD-17 module is packed with practice features to help you become a better drummer. Built-in Bluetooth allows smartphones and laptops to stream audio to the module without a cable, perfect for immersive jam sessions with headphones. Play along with favourite music tracks or mix the sound from a YouTube lesson video with the kit. It's also possible to play songs direct from an SD card and record your playing at any time. Onboard coach functions help you focus on skill building, and even track your progress over time. And the metronome can be set for different time signatures and note values, helping improve your inner clock.
