Construction
The S2 Standard 24 offers retro style and sound in the classic PRS body shape. Its made up of an all mahogany body for added warmth and unique visual aesthetic of a pick guard rounded of with the dual octave fretboard which gives it that modern versatility. It has a set mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. Also locking tuners are fitted to the headstock and a PRS nut. A PRS tremolo linked with the nut and locking tuners as well as brass contact points allow for fantastic tuning stability so no need to worry about tuning issues whilst playing at a gig or in the studio.
Tone
The guitar comes fitted with PRS S2 "S" 58/15 pickups which give you a massive range of tones to start with and along with them being coil tapped you can not only achieve hum bucking tones but by splitting the pickup you can achieve single coil-like tones with a lower output which works fantastic in the studio wanting to try out loads of different tones. Due to the guitar being constructed of mahogany you can that rich warm tone which a mahogany construction is known for, this guitar can handle any style of music you can throw at it from jazz and blues to rock and metal.
S2 Locking Tuners
The PRS S2 Custom 24 also comes fitted with a set of S2 Locking tuners, These are a massive benefit to tuning stability making sure your strings can not come unravelled or loose whilst playing. They also have brass shafts to allow direct contact with the strings for improved resonance and sustain across the fretboard. As well as the Tuners one of the three main contact points for the string is the nut which is essential to the guitars tone. PRS use a proprietary nut material, designed to maximise the guitar's tonal resonance. PRS nut placement is compensated to provide accurate intonation across the fretboard.
