Professional Quality Sounds

Yamaha have packed the MX61 synthesizer with over 1000 sounds derived from a previous top of the range flagship workstation. The Motif XS is well known for its quality of sound so it makes sense for Yamaha to utilise a winning formula of sounds and somehow manage to fit them into the compact yet affordable MX synth. The result is a whole selection of professional sounds perfect for in the studio or out on stage.

DAW Integration

The MX61 integrates with modern DAW systems in a way that is normally on found on expensive top of the range products. Yamaha have incorporated a 2in/ 2out audio interface into the MX61 which allows 2 way audio and MIDI communication between itself and a computer. This makes it incredibly easy to record tracks and performances live into software in order to produce your own music.

Audio is transmitted through USB cable so the studio quality sounds can be recorded track by track into the supplied Cubase software. With 2 way communication, the playing audio can also be monitored back through the MX61 outputs, which also has an independent volume control for incoming audio.

As wel as sound, the MX61 synthesizer also acts as a basic controller for most DAW systems so it will link in and play VST/ AU plugins as well as control parameters of the software. This is incredibly powerful technology at its price band.

Effects Processing

Sounds can be mashed, modified and enhanced with the use of the powerful in-built effects system. MX61 comes equipped with VCM effects, which simulate vintage effectors at the circuit level. The sounds of the 70s are brought back to life, through simulating the hard-to-find vintage sounds of equalizer, flanger, phaser, and wah effects which are only found in the sounds of yesteryear recordings of which warmth seems to be lacking in some of todays digital products.

It is also possible to use a selection of effects at once on the MX61. 4 Insert effects, Reverb & Chorus and EQ can be applied at any given time for truly inspirational sounds.

Bundled With Software

Yamaha have bundled some great software with the MX61. Sequencing and audio can all be achieved with the powerful Cubase AI software which offers great interaction with the remote system of the MX61. Use the MX61 as a controller & sound source and lay down all your audio, and MIDI, with powerful editing capabilities straight into Cubase. As an added bonus users also get Steinberg Prologue, Yamaha YC-3B which are powerful VSTs for even more high quality sounds and features.
