Lutz spruce is a hybrid spuce from the Northwest that grows between stands of Sitka spruce and Canadian white spruce. The sound reminds us of some of the best qualities of legendary Adirondack spruce, while being a bit more dynamically forgiving. Paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, you have a great OM that whispers AND screams. It makes the stealthy transition to stage with ease thanks to the TLD 2 electronics.

Construction

This Takamine EF7M-LS is cut to the ever popular OM body shape which not only feels comfortable against your body and easy to reach over but also provides great projection and volume. The top wood of this model is quite unique, being made of solid Lutz Spruce which is a hybrid strand between the widely used Sitka Spruce and Canadian White spruce. The sound this top wood produces is similar to the legendary Adirondack spruce, while being a bit more dynamically forgiving. Paired with this fantastic top is solid Rosewood back & sides making this model a very dynamic guitar which reacts very well to different velocities of playing.

TLD-2 Pre-amp

The Takamine line driver preamp (TLD-2) is a simple circuit designed to buffer the pickup and boost the current of the signal to eliminate any degradation with long cables. It is clean and quiet with a minimal amount of wiring and is discreetly mounted within the output jack assembly providing no outward sign of on-board electronics. The TLD-2 does have 3 simple tone shaping controls if you care to extract and tinker. But you are likely to find the preset TLD-2, combined with our renowned Palathetic pickup, as Takamine's warmest and most natural acoustic - electric tone yet, and that's saying something.
