PRS Paul's Guitar Yellow Tiger Inc Hardcase

      What PRS have to say:

Historically, the Paul's Guitar (like the Modern Eagle before it) has been a realization of Paul Reed Smith's latest discoveries surrounding tone. Paul specified every appointment of this instrument from the wood selection and inlay design to the pickups. This revamped model represents Paul's vision not only as a guitar maker but as a guitar player who needs versatile stage - and studio-ready gear that can achieve all the right tones. As a man who has every option available to him, Paul's personal design choices include mahogany bodies with maple tops, Honduran rosewood fretboards, Nitrocellulose finishes, "Brushstroke" bird inlays, and narrow pickup bobbins. The Paul's Guitar model also includes PRS's TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) treble and bass pickups with two mini-toggle switches that allow players to put either or both pickups in either humbucking or true single coil mode.

      Main Features:

      • TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) Pickups
      • Individual Switches for Humbucker or True Single Coil Modes
      • Phase III Locking Tuners
      • Stoptail Bridge with Brass Inserts
      • High Gloss Nitro Finish
      • 25" Scale Length
      • Honduran Rosewood Fretboard

      True Single-Coil Tone

The PRS Pauls Guitar features individual toggle switches for each pickup to switch between hum bucking and single coil tones. When humbuckers are coil split usually via a 5-way switch or push/pull knob the unused coil is technically still in the circuit. The mini-toggle allows the PRS humbucker to become an isolated single coil, which removes the unused coil entirely from the circuit. This method allows for a much better single coil sound.

      TCI Pickups

TCI pickups are the next leap forward in guitar pickup technology, this stands for Tuned Capacitance and Inductance. This idea came about from Paul working with John Mayer on the development of his signature model. Due to this process PRS are now able to tune their pickups to target the specific inductance and capacitance that they want. This gives PRS full control over the voicing of each pickup and allows for much better consistency between each set.

      Premium Hardware

The PRS Pauls guitar comes fitted with their Phase III locking tuners which are designed to give better contact which promotes tone transfer for a louder, more resonant guitar, whilst locking the string in place increasing the tuning stability. Paired with the tuners is a bone nut and stop tail bridge with brass inserts. This bridge design is engineered with curved string slots, brass inserts and brass studs to take full advantage of the resonant properties of the guitar.
