Martin GPCX1AE 20th Anniversary Electro-Acoustic Guitar

The GPCX1AE 20th Anniversary model celebrates 20 years since the X-series guitars were first introduced. This range brought a whole new outlook into the acoustic guitar world, now using an array of new material such as the now vastly used HPL material used across the X-range of guitars.

Construction

This GPCX1AE Grand Performance model is made up of a Sitka Spruce top paired High Pressure laminate (HPL) back & Sides. The back and sides are decorated with a Macassar Pattern which looks truly stunning. The body is cut to the extremely comfortable Grand Performance body shape which joins the neck at the 14th fret. Joined to the body is a Select hardwood neck cut to the popular performing artist neck shape. Sat on top of the neck is a 20 fret morado fingerboard stretched across a 25.4" scale length. The whole of the guitar is finished in a smooth satin which feels comfortable, natural and prevents any sticking.

Electronics

The GPCX1SE comes fitted from the factory with a Fishman Sonitone preamp system which is extremely discreet with the controls being tucked neatly inside the sound hole so without knowing you wouldn't notice it was there. Having the preamp system tucked away inside the sound hole not only looks fantastic and gives the guitar a clean and smooth look but also means no additional materials are taken away from the guitar meaning no extra holes or lack of wood.
