Gretsch G2622 Streamliner Hollow Body Electric Guitar Single Barrel Stain
The Streamliner range of guitars has been a huge success for Gretsch, bringing their top notch quality with unique sound and styling to a fantastic affordable price point. Starting at around £400 where as the previous Electromatic range was over £700, this has allowed Gretsch to broaden their customer base meaning younger people and students can now easily afford a Gretsch guitar.
Construction
The G2622 has a slim and comfortable body made up of high quality laminated maple and finished in the stunning Single Barrel Stain. The double cutaway body shape allows for easy access to the upper frets without having to stretch, giving you a tight grip on the neck even when playing up to the last fret. The hollow body design adds warmth and depth to your tone whilst giving it an acoustic feel. A spruce centre block runs through the length of the body, this not only allows for reinforcement of the top but also gets rid of any nasty feedback when playing at higher volumes. Joined to the body you have a nato neck which feels solid, it is cut to the really comfortable thin "U" neck shape to allow ampul grip across the fretboard. The strings span across a 24.75" scale length paired with a 1.6875" nut width making the tension of the strings comfortable yet firm and the string spacing giving ampul room for hands of any size.
Electronics
The G2622 comes fitted with a set of the Broad'tron BT-2S Humbucker pickups. Specifically designed for the streamliner range of guitars, they provide you with a moderate output boasting an improved definition with tighter bass response for robust lows, pristine highs and a throaty midrange. These pickups paired with Gretsch's unique control layout allows for masses of tonal variation with independent pickup volumes, master tone control and a master volume, this allows you to set independent levels for each pickup, set your master volume and switch between them with ease.
