The American Special Telecaster puts U.S-made Fender quality into the hands of players at any level. Construction

Starting off with a solid Alder body to provide the rich and clear tone, finished in a gloss urethane finish which provides a beautifully glassy sheen and especially vivid color in a highly durable coating that effectively resists the ravages of weather, daily abuse, aging and fading. Matched to the body is a Maple neck consisting of a maple fingerboard, 22 jumbo frets, and a 25.5" scale length. Boasting the largest of the fret sizes from Fender, jumbo frets are tall and wide, which lets you get a better grip on the strings, enabling more control over them and making your bends and vibrato much easier. All these features make the American Special Stratocaster a good choice for players with larger hands and thicker fingers. The back of the neck is cut to Fenders Modern C neck shape which allows for maximum comfort whether playing open chords or soloing past the 12th fret, it is also a Satin finished neck to allow for maximum grip and no slipping whatever the playing conditions.

Electronics

Starting with the Singlecoils in the Neck & Bridge positions the American Special Stratocaster comes fitted as standard with Fenders most popular pickups; The Texas Special pickups, they are renowned for their fantastic Bluesy Twang, made specifically to provide a Texas-blues like tone with a rather modest output which also makes them suitable for hard/classic rock as well as a variety of other genres and styles. The pickups consist of alnico 5 magnets, enamel-coated magnet wire and staggered pole pieces for balanced output across each string, they sing, scream and everything in between with tight bass, focused midrange and crystalline highs. In the bridge we have a Fender Atomic Humbucker, as one of Fenders hottest and highest output pickups in their line up, not only do you get the clear and crisp bluesy tones from the texas special single coils in the neck but but now you have a supreme punch coming form the bridge. Perfect for the rock players or anyone wanting a real higher output Fender sounds. Not only do you get this fantastic set of pickups but the American Special Stratocaster is also fitted with Fenders grease bucket tone circuit which rolls of the high end without putting more emphasis on the bass when rolling down your tone controls, this prevents your tone form becoming muddy and keeps it sparkling and clear as a telecaster should be.
