Yamaha LS26 A.R.E. II Acoustic Guitar Inc Hardcase

      Hand-built to perfection

The LS26 ARE II is part of the flagship L series range from Yamaha. Hand crafted in Japan using only premium materials to a very high standard.

Using Yamaha's small but powerful concert body size, The ll26 ARE II the top is made from an A.R.E treated Solid Engelmann Spruce Top paired with solid Rosewood back and sides. This combination is tried and tested among guitar manufacturers and provides a crisp and clear tone. It has been perfectly balanced for clarity whether playing finger style or strong chord strumming.

This body shape and combination of woods gives you ample projection and volume whilst still remaining comfortable and easy to play. Joined to the body is a 5-ply neck which is extremely strong and durable, cut to the very comfortable vintage V neck profile which sits snugly in your hands. A top the neck is an ebony fretboard. It is joined to the body with an enlarged neck block for greater sustain and square frame side bracing to deliver a truly premium tone.

The neck is Yamaha's well-known five-ply sandwich of mahogany and rosewood for added strength and general durability.

The vintage-inspired L26 reminds us of the tradition of Yamaha guitars. Open-gear tuners and overall settled cosmetics draw interest of many players who appreciate history, tradition and the good-old days. Like its appearance, the sound of L26 is open and mature while offering Yamaha's exclusive comfort and playability.

      A.R.E. Technology

A.R.E. stands for Acoustic Resonance Enchantment, it has been developed by Yamaha since the late 1990's to mature the woods used without the use of any chemical treatment. This process is done by precisely controlling temperature, humidity and pressure to change the wood on a cellular level. This ages the wood to give the tonal characteristics of a 15 year old guitar which has had time to mature. The LS26 gives the player the tone and feel of a high end vintage instrument without the 5 figure price tag.
