    Yamaha Clavinovas

The new range of Clavinovas for 2008

Yamaha are constantly improving their digital pianos and the all new Yamaha Arius YDP140 is no exception. Although not technically a Clavinova is comes from the same stable of instruments. The piano sample is based on the previous CLP240 which offers great expression and richness of sound. The piano action is significantly improved over the previous YDPs so now you have a great budget instrument from Yamaha. So where do you lose out... the Arius is a budget piano the cabinet is fantastic for the money but not the same quality as the CLP range, the amplification does its job and is fantastic for the money. We would definitely recommend the Arius as a serious beginners instrument but would strongly suggest you compare to the Clavinova range. Most people only purchase 1 piano and a few hundred pounds more could significantly increase the pleasure you get from the piano

    No Nonsense

The new arius YDP140 offers a no nonsense approach to playing the piano. It offers the student an instrument where you can just sit down and play. It boasts a 3 step dynamic stereo sampled grand piano voice with 30 sampling banks for increased accuracy ( in laymans terms... it sounds really good ). Reverb and chorus effects are built in where neccesay to enhance the sound even further and the Graded hammer action allows you to transfer your piano skills to any acoustic piano or digital piano ( in laymans terms... it feels like a piano ).

    25 years of Yamaha Clavinova

208 marks the the 25th anniversary of the Yamaha Clavinova range. Since production began in 1983 the Clavinova has become the worlds favourite digital piano, the choice of beginners and professional pianists alike. It began with one simple aspiration... to bring the joy of playing a piano to everyone with an instrument that was affordable and practical.
the dream was to electronically reproduce the sound and feel of an acoustic grand piano. these 2 criteria are key to every Clavinova and bring many practical benefits Electronic instruments can be much smaller, never need tuning and can be used with headphones for private practice... all major benefits for many modern homes.
The use of electronics also means that the instruments can be very affordable another key point in bringing pianos within reach of everyone.
