Roland JX-03 is part of the Roland Boutique synth range bringing back a classic synth sound of the past. The JX-03 re-unites us users with the tech of the Roland JX-3P which was known for its buttons and being programmable via the optional PG-200 controller. The JX-03 offers a superb recreation of the sound of the original classic synth with all the controls of the PG-200 controller already built into the front panel. Combined with modern connectivity such as a built-in speaker, USB audio interfacing and battery powered portability, this compact synth module is an essential add-on for any synth collector.
Sound And Controls Of The Original JX-3P
gone but not forgotten, the JX-3P was a classic synth and a powerful one when combined with the PG-200 programmer. The Roland JX-03 is a truly faithful recreation of the original offering the same vintage warmth of sound and full control aspects of the PG-200 without the need for buying a separate sound controller. The JX-03 benefits from extra waveforms and extended range for both DCOs as well as extra waveforms for the LFO. The second DCO also gets extra cross modulation options. These additions further expand the sound creation possibilities of the battle-tested JX engine.
25 Note Controller
Out the box the JX-03 has no keys to trigger the sounds but it is equipped with MIDI In and Out connections. There is however a dedicated mini controller keyboard to make the JX-03 a complete portable synth solution. The K-25M keyboard has a special mount to slide the JX-03 module straight in. It also has 3 different angled positions for the module to allow convenient access tot he control panel.
16 Step Sequencer
Lay down your ideas and get creative with the 16 step sequencer. It offers an easy way to play riffs and modify sounds without the need for external devices.
Chain Mode
The JX-03 offers 4 voice polyphony as standard, twice that of the original! If you want a bigger sound then you can link 2 modules together using the chain mode which allows two units to work as one with 8 note polyphony. Furthermore if you add extra models you will add further 4 not polyphony for each module added.
DAW Integration
The built-in USB port also functions as a high-quality 24bit, 44.1kHz audio interface, for a fast, simple and reliable way of recording directly to your DAW application. You can keep your favourite patches and sequencer patterns safe too, via the USB data backup function.
