The Korg R3 is a mighty product in a small package. Powerful vocoder, high quality MMT based sounds ( derived from Radias) and clear hands-on synth control make the R3 a step above its little brother - the MicroKorg XL.
Along the top right of the Korg R3 panel are 5 knobs. Each with their own backlit LCD display. One of the knobs changes page and on each page the LCD screen above the other 4 tells you what they control on that page. This system makes editing very easy so you can unleash the quality and power of the Korg R3 MMT sound engine.
As well as the mighty sounds in the Korg R3, Korg have included a powerful 16 band Vocoder. The vocoder can adjust your voice to sound like a robot or other modulated sound to emulate the synth talking. The Korg R3 also has formants so you can record up to 16 lots of 7.5 second samples of vocoding and trigger them just by playing keys. As with all the sounds on the R3, the vocoder can be put through the 2 insert FX and master FX system.
A free R3 editor is included with in the box. This makes it easy to access all the parameters of the sounds and settings of the R3 without having to dive deep into product menus, saving precious time.
