The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 is a single rack unit or tabletop USB audio interface capable of 24bit/96kHz recording. Choose 18i20 For Exceptional Audio Quality

Quality sound is the focus of this premium interface. Precision 24-bit/96kHz A-D/D-A converters deliver exceptional dynamic range to ensure pristine quality audio recordings. The 8 analogue mic/line inputs are fitted with combination XLR/jack input sockets, and connections for channels 1+ 2 are on the front panel. These first 2 channels offer additional Hi-Z instrument modes and a switchable 10dB pad. An additional eight channels of digital I/O (four channels at 88.2/96kHz) are provided via ADAT lightpipe, with S/PDIF providing an additional stereo digital input and output. Dual independent headphone outputs let you set up separate mixes for the engineer and the artist, while a dedicated monitor section, with dim and mute buttons, provides comprehensive control over your studio monitors.

Bundled Software

Scarlett 18i20 ships with software ready to let your creativity run wild. Included as downloads are Ableton Live Lite music production software, Scarlett plug-in suite and the latest RED2 and RED3 plug-ins worth £229!

Record audio and MIDI, and run VST audio instruments and effects from Ableton Live Lite. Ableton will allow you to create, record and perform in order to create your musical masterpiece. It will also run high quality third party plug-ins such as the compressor, reverb, gate and EQ processors included in the Focusrite Scarlett plug-in bundle. Novations Bass Station soft synth is also included, plus over 1GB of royalty-free Loopmasters samples.

Focusrite have been kind enough to include the Red series 2 & 3 plug-ins with the 18i20 interface. The Red 2 & Red 3 Plug-in Suite accurately model Focusrite's classic Red range equalizer and compressor hardware. The Red 2 dual equalizer offers the distinguished warm and smooth tones of the original hardware. Its flexible 6-band configuration with high and low-pass filters is powerful and responsive. The RED 3 plug in emulates the Dual compressor/ limiter which was famous for being able to retain a natural sound whilst being used for even the hardest levels of compression

Versatile Mixing Control

The Scarlett 18i20 comes complete with Mix Control software which is a versatile mixing and routing software specially designed for the Scarlett hardware. It allows users to route audio between different channels, route between different software, control headphone output mixes and more. All of these features are easily laid out and with ultra low latency.

Scarlett 18i20 will work with Mac, PC and even IOS devices (USB Camera connection kit required) making this a truly versatile and mobile interface. A USB interface is perfect where other systems are not using the same device buss i.e. a USB interface is recommended where an external firewire device is connected to the same computer so the data can be transferred at optimal speed for optimal performance.
