Jimi Hendrix took the world by storm with his incredible Monterey Pop Festival performance, which he concluded with the sacrificial burning of his now-iconic hand-painted Stratocaster. Destroyed during the fiery culmination of his set, this one-of-a-kind guitar survived only in photos and film. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this milestone in music history, we created the limited-edition Jimi Hendrix Monterey Stratocaster.

Construction

Sticking to the classic Fender stratocaster design as used by Hendrix you have a solid Alder body which provides a classic twang and brightness which Stratocasters are known for, the body shape also fits snugly to your body and is comfortable to play whether you are playing stood up or sat down. Fitted to the body we have a bolt on maple neck with a Pau Fero fretboard, and 21 medium jumbo frets. The neck is cut to Fenders ever popular Modern C neck shape which feels smooth from top to bottom. The neck is finished in a Gloss Polyurethane coat to allowing for easy movement up and down the fretboard and a vintage feel to the neck. The guitars body art is an homage to Hendrix's hand-painted original, giving fans, players and collectors the chance to own a modern classic.

Pickups & Electronics

The Monterey Stratocaster comes fitted with a set of Fenders Vintage-voiced Stratocaster single coil pickups which are voiced to provide the classic Strat, Bell Like sound which we all know and love. However these pickups also have an aggressive side, pushing the pickups you get a much higher output than you would expect allowing the tone to break up a lot easier and with less gain that you would expect. All controlled by a master volume knob, 2 independent tone controls and a 5 position blade switch you have more than enough tonal options all at your fingertips before even touching your amplifier, roll off the volume to clean up your tone or go all out with all the breakup you could want.
