Generations of professional and amateur musicians remember – and still use – their first Yamaha FG. Now, Yamaha has found a way to apply innovative techniques developed for its high-end L-Series handcrafted models to improve tone and playability while maintaining outstanding value. The result: 15 exciting new FG guitars. Each new model features an inverted L-block which creates a deeper low end and a tighter body-neck connection. Additionally, solid spruce tops, die-cast chrome hardware, and unique non-scalloped bracing help these new FG guitars build on the longevity and legendary status of the originals.
Extremely popular with the students of our music school*, the FG series of Yamaha acoustic guitars is a brilliant choice for the new guitarist. The range starts with the FG720, with a solid spruce top and Sycamore sides. This model is extremely good for it's price bracket and competes easily with guitars of twice the price. It has a lovely mellow tone, fantastic for warm sounding chords and has a comfortably sized neck for the beginner. The FG720 is also available in left handed and 12 string versions and a developed model, the FGX720 features an upper register cut-away and electronic output.
