Jim Dunlop Products |
Industry Standard classic FX unitsFrom the opening few bars of Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Chile (slight return) to the killer riffs of Van Halen, Jim Dunlop have made their mark on modern rock guitar playing and continue to lead the way in developing high-quality effects units. Made famous during the 1960's Jim Dunlop products were made hip by young hotshots like Hendrix and Clapton. Early units included the Fuzzface distortion unit, and most importantly the Cry Baby wha-wha effect.* Other important breakthroughs were the Rotovibe units emulating Lesley Rotating Speakers from electric organs. Today these three core models have spawned several different varieties of their own, with upgrades to the standard Cry-Baby including tru-bypass and variable frequency controls. The Cry Baby also has many celebrity endorsees including the late, great, Dimebag Darrel. Developing the pedals like the Univibe and Rotovibe, we now have expression pedal based varients that are truely stunning in their application. Jim Dunlop also produce the "Talk Box" made famous by Bon Jovi and Peter Frampton. In the late 70's and early 80's many heavy metal and rock guitarists started experimenting further with effects and their effects pedals, and during this time MXR emerged as a fore runner in this field. Today boasting an impressive range of Distortion, Fuzz, Compressor, Phaser and Chorus units MXR produce some high quality gear that is nothing to be sniffed at. *A Wha-Wha pedal performs a similar function to the tone control on your guitar. It has a much wider tonal variation however and can be expressivly employed because of it's foot pedal design. Why not pop in to A&C Hamiltons to see what we have in stock and to find out more!
