Gibson Les Paul Standard

The original and best

Made in Nashville, Tennessee this guitar needs to be played and heard before you can truly understand it's brilliance come try one at our store or ask for a demonstration! Crafted from a slab of top grade Mahogany with an AA quality maple top, the Les Paul was designed from the ground up with the entire focus being the tones produced. There is a reason why this instrument is played by so many professional guitarists.

The original intention behind the design was to provide the legendary guitarist Les Paul, with a guitar that would sustain a single note for twenty seconds! When it was finished, Gibson slapped his name on it... and the thoughts and concepts that made the Les Paul wildly popular back then still ring true today. Using a combination of dense, rich mahogany and bright punchy maple, the Les Paul is able to switch from smooth mellow blues and jazz to screaming heavy metal in an instant.

Available in an array of beautiful finishes including the vintage style sunburst and the glorious Translucent Amber (pictured) there is most definitely a Les Paul for any taste, and with the choice of either a 50's or 60's tapered style neck the combinations expand still further.

Another interesting characteristic of the Les Paul guitar is the multiple tone and volume controls, each of the "Burstbucker Pro" alnico V magnet equipped pickups have their own volume and tone control, allowing the user to swap to completely independent sounds. For those with a penchant for the weird and whacky, try rolling off all of the volume on just one of the pickups and rapidly flip the pickup selector. A strange gate effect ensues and yet another expressive possibility is opened.

Imported from the States, this guitar arrives in perfect playable state. Rarely outside of GAA (Guitar Anoraks Anonymous) does a Les Paul ever need to be fiddled with. They're uncomplicated and understated. They don't have to rely on fancy features or weird quirks to push up the sales. All of that was done over 50 years ago.

The Les Paul standard comes with a Gibson Hard Case. To hear the Gibson Les Paul you can visit the Gibson website at www.gibson.com or better yet, come in and see us and we'll show you what it can really do!
