Gibson Explorer

Almost too far ahead of it's time

The Explorer’s radical body shape debuted in 1958 and was almost 20 years ahead of its time. Not until the late 1970s did rock and roll’s most daring guitarists embrace the Explorer, and that classic 1976 styling is captured on today’s X-Plorer.

Now made popular by countless pro guitarists, the explorer has taken on the roll of Gibson's quintessential Heavy Rock guitar.

Gibson trademarks such as Mahogany body and neck, Rosewood fretboard and high output pickups (496R and 500T in this instance) are all there.

Available in a choice of finishes: Ebony, Cherry (shown), Classic White and Natural with Chrome plated hardware. The Gibson Explorer also includes a Gibson hardcase.
