The current day electric guitar is pretty much exactly the same as when the concept was first brought about and the first big names started putting out their wares.

Gibson are just as guilty of this as anyone else, whilst other instruments have developed and embraced digital technology such as Keyboards, Pianos and hell, even the drums! The electric guitar has ceased to do so, being as it is the domain of generally speaking the most demanding of musicians, it's difficult to bring new ideas and concepts to the table. A built in headphone jack, Ethernet jack for crystal clear digital output, microphone input and standard output jack make up the connections to the instrument and because of the Ethernet cable, a single guitar signal is sent to an included break-out-box which can then be sent to six different amplifiers (if desired) or two amps and a hard disk recorder, or an FX unit or a mixing desk...
