Featuring Fender's increasingly popular "Grease-Bucket" circuitry, which enables a guitarist to turn down the tone control and thus lose some treble without gaining extra bass. Whether intentionally or not, this also produces a percieved middle frequency hump that provides some wicked tonal options.
The headstock is the "CBS era" enlarged style, made famous by Jimi Hendrix at the Woodstock festival and the finish a satin Nitro-cellulose reminicent of early Fenders. This gutiar is designed to age and look used. Just like Fender's now famous Time Machine custom shop offerings. The paint will "check" (a natural phenomonon caused to the paint finish by the instrument's exposure to changes in temperature over many years) and you won't need to worry too much if you ding it... It's all part of the effect! Also available is the option of a maple fretboard.
With it's new Alnico-3 magnet pickups (including an out-of-phase middle pickup) this Strat has a hotter output level than previous models and sounds frankly, rediculously powerful at high gain settings.
