The Fender Custom shop is world renowned for the exceptional quality and attention to detail in their guitars. During a recent reconstruction and production of Eric Clapton's "Blackie" Guitar the bods at Fender even went so far as to burn the headstock with a ciggarette just like old clapper's!
Famous for the increasingly popular "Time Machine" series of guitars and for working with Fender's current list of Endorsee's the custom shop year on year manages to amaze and thrill us guitarists with their impressive work.
Whilst it must be said that the overwhelming majority of the custom shop's output is aimed squarely at the Vintage market, providing faithful recreations of long gone guitars. The custom shop does still produce some brilliant contemporary pieces and is at the cutting edge of guitar technology.

57 Heavy Relic® Stratocaster®
The Limited Release ’57 Heavy Relic Stratocaster guitar features the realistic look and feel of a 1957 Strat that was played vigorously on a nightly basis, while incorporating some of the most requested modern upgrades. Highlights of this guitar include Heavy Relic aging, a lightweight ash thin-skin lacquer body, one-piece quartersawn maple neck with 1957 soft V-shape worn-neck backshape and 9.5” radius, 6105 frets, bone nut, 5-way pickup switch, Custom Shop 1969 neck pickup, Custom Shop Fat ’50s middle pickup and a Texas Special bridge pickup.
