Much copied classic amplifierOriginally designed as a Bass guitar amplifier (back in the days when a 10W guitar amp would do the job) to go with the new Fender Precision Bass guitar the Fender Bassman was the answer to many Pro musicians prayers. During the '60s and '70s the amp started to become popular with Rock, Blues and Country guitarists. Don't be fooled though this guitar amp is still very popular with many young bands looking for a warm, vintage rock sound. It should also be pointed out that the original Marshall amplifiers used the circuitry in this amplifier (although with considerably different results!) There is one reason why this amp is so popular. Simplicity, during the early 90's a swarm of professional and amature guitarists alike began to tire of enormous racks of effects, pre-amps and power amps and wanted simple bang-for-buck. A demand for vintage style sounds and straight-forward use grew. Fender decided that the time was right to re-introduce a classic With it's sensible power rating (45w), wide stage coverage and unbelievable touch sensitivity the reissue Bassman was an instant hit.
