Fender Classic Player Baja Telecaster Black Maple Neck

Specifically designed by Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Christopher Fleming, the Fender Classic Player Baja Telecaster electric guitar delivers features and appointments that are usually reserved for Custom Shop models, at a price that makes them attainable at a fraction of the cost. Such as the S1 switching and brass contact points which make this guitar a step above its Mexican brothers.

      Construction

The instantly recognisable Tele design has been crafted from a solid piece of ash, giving the Classic Player Baja a forthright energy with a focused midrange power. The body has been treated to a smart Black paint job with think polyester finish for protection. Beneath the strings and around the pickups is a black pickguard that prevents unwanted scrapes from damaging the body top. Fitted to the body is a 3-point American vintage saddles with brass contact points, paired with the strung-through-body you have fantastic sustain and body resonance. The bridge guarantees a seamless connection between strings and body, ensuring optimum intonation and sustain.

Fitted to the body is a supple maple neck, which has a soft "V"-shaped profile and is usually reserved for Custom Shop model, which makes it a delight to play. Married to the neck is a 21 medium-jumbo fret maple fingerboard, which works wonderfully with the neck to deliver articulation and clarity allowing you to cut through any mix with ease!

      Electronics

The Fender Classic Player Baja Telecaster is equipped with a Custom Shop single-coil Broadcaster pickup in the bridge position, as well as a Twisted single-coil in the neck position. Control over the electronics come in the form of a master volume pot, a master tone pot, and a 4-way position switch that enables you to "solo" each pickup, or select both pickups simultaneously either in series or in parallel. The range of tones on offer is absolutely mind-blowing, and you'll never tire of experimenting with the built-in S-1 switch to craft and shape your output to get the tone you desire.

All the tone choice you could ever need

The Classic Player Baja Telecaster is a specialized Telecaster model with a four-way blade switch rather than the three-way switch typically found on most Telecasters. Without engaging the S-1 switch, the first three blade switch positions deliver standard Telecaster wiring, with a special in-series fourth position that creates a thicker tone with more output.

      • Position one: bridge pickup only
      • Position two: bridge and neck pickups in parallel
      • Position three: neck pickup only
      • Position four: neck and bridge pickups in series

Engaging the S-1 switch on this particular Telecaster introduces out-of-phase circuitry to blade switch positions two and four only, with positions one and three remaining unaffected. This produces a thinner and more-hollow tone of the kind often heard in, for example, funk and early electric blues.

      • Position one: bridge pickup only
      • Position two: bridge and neck pickups in parallel and out of phase
      • Position three: neck pickup only
      • Position four: neck and bridge pickups in series and out of phase
